2015 Geneva Motor Show: Volkswagen Sport Coupe GTE Concept
Geneva, Switzerland - March 12, 2015 - The Sport Coupe Concept GTE was one of four debuts on Volkswagen's stand in Geneva, alongside the new Touran, Passat Alltrack and the Sharan. But the sheer presence of the all-wheel drive plug-in hybrid concept car is a clear indication that something's going on at Volkswagen Design. And it's not just because it was painted in an eye-catching gold hue. Said to preview a vehicle positioned above the current Volkswagen CC, a sleek four-door coupe that undercuts the Mercedes CLS - the car that pioneered this segment when it was first introduced in 2004 - in price, the Sport Coupe Concept GTE heralds a new, sharper and more progressive design language yet preserves VW's design DNA. The Sport Coupé Concept GTE is an impressive piece of work, demonstrating how Volkswagen's MQB (modular transverse matrix) platform can be used to showcase varied proportions and package dimensions.

2015 Geneva Motor Show: Nissan Sway concept
Geneva, Switzerland - March 09, 2015 - Created at Nissan's design studio in Atsugi, Kanagawa Prefecture of Japan, the Sway hatchback concept shows Nissan's design direction as applied to a compact B-segment vehicle. And it's a very successful interpretation. The Sway has very modern appeal, harnessing Nissan's new design language seen on the new Maxima and Murano production cars. The V-motion front grille, boomerang headlamps and tail lamps, floating roof, kick-up C-post and the body side lines are all design elements reinterpreted on the new smaller vehicle and to great success. The Sway is a very sporty proposition for the B segment, which is one of the most competitive vehicle segments in Europe. When it launches in production guise it will undoubtedly become a worthy contender as an alternative to the Ford Fiesta, Renault Clio, Volkswagen Polo and Peugeot 208.

Geneva, Switzerland - March 6, 2015 - The Lamborghini Aventador has had several years on the market to break necks - both of passersbys and of drivers engaging Corsa mode - but now it's getting an even more extreme variant: the Aventador LP 750-4 SuperVeloce, or SV. That's borne out in the numbers, hitting 62 mph in just 2.8 seconds - about a tenth quicker than the standard Aventador. Top speed is still claimed to be somewhere in excess of 217 mph.

2015 Geneva Motor Show: Ferrari 488 GTB
Geneva, Switzerland - March 6, 2015 - As with most shows, Ferrari's stand at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show was one of the busiest. The Prancing Horse's star this year is the 488 GTB, the mid-cycle update for the 458 Italia and the latest of the Italian marque's models to adopt a turbocharged powerplant. In developing the car, Ferrari drew extensively on its experience in both Formula One and endurance racing, as well as from its XX program. This can be seen in the incredible output generated from the 488 GTB's new twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V-8, as well as in the sophisticated dynamic vehicle controls that make the engine's performance controllable - even when at the limit. Peak output registers at 660 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. Ferrari quotes a 0-62 mph time of just 3.0 seconds and a top speed in excess of 205 mph.
