Chancellor Angela Merkel opened the 66th IAA Cars in Frankfurt/Main, Germany
Frankfurt/Main, Germany - September 17, 2015 - Chancellor Angela Merkel opened the 66th IAA Cars (from September 17 to 27, 2015 in Frankfurt/Main, Germany) in the presence of numerous high-ranking guests from politics, business and society. "The world's most important trade fair shows that the digitization of mobility is the mega topic driving the automotive industry forward with innovations coming at a rapid rate. They will make driving even safer, more comfortable, and more efficient. The German automotive industry alone is investing 16 to 18 billion euros in connected and automated driving over the next three to four years. This 66th IAA Cars opens up a view onto the mobility of tomorrow. Over 1,100 exhibitors - more than we've ever had before in this century - are using the entire trade fair grounds as a fascinating showroom. They come from 39 countries. The innovation density at this exhibition is unique across the globe: visitors will find 219 world premieres, a good third more than we had two years ago," said Matthias Wissmann, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), at the IAA's opening ceremony in Frankfurt am Main.

Six Ways to Tell if You Work for a Really Great Company
LinkedIn - September 15, 2015 - A company where people really want to work has one of the most powerful competitive advantages in the game: the ability to hire and field the best team. Building that advantage can often take years - decades or more. That's just the way it is with employer reputations. They're built career by career, annual report by annual report, crisis by crisis (because every company has one or two of them), and recovery by recovery. In today's media-saturated world, however, there is a major exception to the generally slow pace of reputation-building. Companies can become preferred employers virtually overnight thanks to the "buzz factor", which is as potent as it is fast-acting. In a technology-based company, buzz usually comes with an exciting breakthrough or paradigm-altering product or service. Google, Amazon, and Twitter are perfect examples. Buzz can also come from having a glamorous or prestigious brand, like Chanel or Ferrari.

I dlatego ostatecznie pokonała Polskę. W zamian Słowacy dostali szansę na inwestycję w wysokości 1,4 mld euro. 11 sierpnia 2015 roku, ku wielkiemu rozczarowaniu Polaków, Jaguar Land Rover i rząd słowacki podpisały list intencyjny w sprawie budowy fabryki aut, która ma dać zatrudnienie 2-4 tysięcy osób i produkować docelowo 300 tysięcy aut rocznie." - pisze Danuta Walewska, Redaktorka dziennika "Rzeczpospolita".

Professor Barry Schwartz: Why We're So Unhappy With Work - And How to Fix It
LinkedIn - September 05, 2015 - Labor Day, 2015, offers Americans something to celebrate for the first time in years. All around the country, movements are growing to raise the minimum wage significantly. The current target is $15/hour, more than twice the federal minimum, and legislation to create such a minimum is being passed in city after city. As this effort to move full-time workers above the poverty line gathers steam, there is reason to believe that in the not-to-distant future, all employees will be guaranteed a living wage. For decades, historic gains in worker productivity have been going to those who occupy executive suites and attend shareholders' meetings. Now, there is hope that this regressive trend will change.

IFA 2015: Introducing 6th Generation Intel Core, Intel's Best Processor Ever
IFA 2015, Berlin, Germany and Santa Clara, Calif., USA - September 03, 2015 - Today Intel Corporation introduced the 6th Generation Intel Core processor family, the company's best processors ever. The launch marks a turning point in people's relationship with computers. The 6th Gen Intel Core processors deliver enhanced performance and new immersive experiences at the lowest power levels ever and also support the broadest range of device designs - from the ultra-mobile compute stick, to 2 in 1s and huge high-definition All-in-One desktops, to new mobile workstations. There are over 500 million computers in use today that are four to five years old or older. They are slow to wake, their batteries don't last long, and they can't take advantage of all the new experiences available today. Built on the new Skylake microarchitecture on Intel's leading 14nm manufacturing process technology, 6th Gen Intel Core processors deliver up to two and a half times better performance, triple the battery life, and graphics that are 30 times better for seamless and smooth gaming and video experiences versus the average 5-year-old computer. They can also be half as thin and half the weight, have faster wake up time, and battery life that lasts virtually all day.

Sir Richard Branson: You Can't Fake Personality, Passion or Purpose
LinkedIn - August 31, 2015 - The first thing we look for when hiring new staff is personality. In my eyes, personality always wins over book smarts. Company knowledge and job-specific skills can be learned, but you can't train a personality. We look for people who are friendly and considerate, and who like working with others. From our airlines to our call centres, and our office buildings to our gym floors, you will always see smiling people working together to get the job done. These personalities make our staff successful, and, in turn, our businesses successful - they also keep our company culture vibrant. We also place more importance on experience rather than qualifications. The person with the top grades and most credentials isn't always the best person for the role.

IBM and GENCI Team to Drive Supercomputing Closer to Exascale
Paris, France - August 28, 2015 - IBM (NYSE: IBM) and GENCI, the high performance computing agency in France, today announced a collaboration aimed at speeding up the path to exascale computing - the ability of a computing system to perform at least one exaflop, or a billion billion calculations, in one second. Currently the fastest systems in the world perform between ten and 33 petaflops, or ten to 33 million billion calculations per second - roughly one to three percent the speed of exascale. Put into context, if exascale computing is the equivalent of an automobile reaching 1000 miles per hour, today's fastest systems are running within a range between ten and 33 miles per hour. The collaboration, planned to run for at least 18 months, focuses on readying complex scientific applications for systems under development expected to achieve more than 100 petaflops, a solid step forward on the path to exascale. Working closely with supercomputing experts from IBM, GENCI will have access to some of the most advanced high performance computing technologies stemming from the rapidly expanding OpenPOWER ecosystem.
