World's Fastest Commercial Drone Powered by NVIDIA Jetson TX1
Austin, Texas, USA - July 22, 2016 - Records were made to be broken, and drones are no exception. Teal Drones unveiled its first production product, Teal, a Jetson TX1-powered drone capable of flight speeds in excess of 70 mph. That makes Teal the world's fastest production drone. Image recognition systems are growing increasingly sophisticated - but they don't come close to matching the efficiency of the ones we carry around with us inside our skulls. As part of an effort to close that gap, our Jetson TX1 embedded computing module swept both tracks of the recent Low Power Image Recognition Challenge, held in Austin, Texas, at the IEEE Rebooting Computing event.

A TITAN for a Titan: NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang Presents New TITAN X to Baidu's Andrew Ng

"We wanted to bring supercomputing power into the GeForce channel, so everyone in academia can benefit." Driven by 3,584 NVIDIA CUDA cores running at 1.5GHz, TITAN X packs 11 TFLOPs of brute force. Plus it's armed with 12 GB of GDDR5X memory - one of the fastest memory technologies in the world.

Daimler invests massively in green powertrain technologies: All Mercedes-Benz model series will be electrified
Stuttgart, Germany - July 15, 2016 - Daimler will invest more than seven billion euro in 'green' technologies in the next two years alone. Shortly, smart will be the only automaker worldwide to offer its entire model range both powered by internal combustion engines or operating on battery power. Mercedes-Benz will put the first fuel-cell-powered vehicle with plug-in technology into series production, the GLC F-CELL. In addition, the company is developing a dedicated vehicle architecture for battery-electric motor cars.

Lockheed Martin-built radar shows multi-mission performance. Q-53 Radar Demonstrates Counter-UAS Capability
Syracuse, N.Y., USA - June 27, 2016 - The Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) AN/TPQ-53 counterfire radar recently demonstrated its ability to identify and track unmanned aerial systems and pass that information to a command and control node, a key capability as the battlespace rapidly becomes more crowded with emerging air threats. The radar identified and tracked several unmanned aerial systems and provided data to Forward Area Air Defense Command and Control. Simultaneously, the Q-53 radar performed its original mission by providing accurate targeting data on rockets, artillery and mortars, providing a multimission radar (MMR) capability. The solid-state phased array radar system detects, classifies, tracks and determines the location of enemy indirect fire in either 360- or 90-degree modes.
