PGNiG Norway sprzeda ropę ze złoża Skarv spółce Shell za 3,5 miliarda PLN
Warszawa - 20 października 2011 - PGNiG Norway, spółka zależna Polskiego Górnictwa Naftowego i Gazownictwa SA, podpisała umowę z Shell International Trading and Shipping Company na sprzedaż ropy naftowej, która będzie wydobywana ze złoża Skarv na Norweskim Szelfie Kontynentalnym (NCS). Wartość umowy, oszacowana przy założeniu prognozowanej sprzedaży ropy naftowej w okresie kolejnych pięciu lat, wynosi 1,1 mld USD.

Gaz z łupków. Bezpieczne i ekologiczne źródło energii jest już wydobywane na Pomorzu przez PGNiG
Lubocino, powiat Puck, na Pomorzu - 18 października 2011 - Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA, jako pierwsza polska firma rozpoczęła techniczne wydobycie gazu z łupków. Przeprowadzone badania, po zakończonych sukcesem zabiegach szczelinowania, potwierdzają, że na koncesji Wejherowo potencjalnie mamy znaczne pokłady gazu z łupków. Analizy gazu z łupków syluru i ordowiku potwierdzają jego bardzo dobre parametry energetyczne, brak siarkowodoru i niską zawartość azotu. Dodatkowo analizy potwierdzają występowanie węglowodorów ciężkich.

Siemens puts solar farm in the south of France on line
Erlangen, Germany - October 17, 2011 - Siemens is putting the solar farm Les Mées on line. Siemens has installed 112,000 solar modules on an approximately 70-hectare site on the La Colle des Mées plateau in the vicinity of the French Alps. Siemens Energy is EPC contractor for the six photovoltaic (PV) power plants with a combined peak output of 31 megawatts (MWp) and will in the future perform maintenance work on the solar power plants. Approximately 12,000 French households in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence in the south of France will be supplied with ecofriendly power.

IBM Joins European Consortium to Build a Smart Grid Using Renewable Energy
Armonk, N.Y., USA & Copenhagen, Denmark - October 13, 2011 - IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced it has joined a collaborative consortium to help develop an energy grid that uses at least 50 percent of renewable energy sources, such as wind power, solar energy and biogas. There are actually two recessions. The first is the cyclical one, the one that inevitably comes and then inevitably goes. There's plenty of evidence that intervention can shorten it, and also indications that overdoing a response to it is a waste or even harmful. The other recession, though, the one with the loss of "good factory jobs" and systemic unemployment - I fear that this recession is here forever.

Wygląd i zachowanie robota są bardzo istotne dla dalszego kierunku rozwoju robotów humanoidalnych. Ostatnie badania wykazały, że jeśli robot wygląda jak robot i zachowuje się jak robot, akceptujemy to, ponieważ nasz mózg nie ma problemu z przetwarzaniem informacji. Jeśli roboty wyglądają na bardziej ludzkie, tym samym wydają się bardziej przyjazne, ale tylko do punktu, w którym ich delikatne niedoskonałości zaczynają wywoływać w ludziach uczucie obcości lub grozy.
