The new Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG: Enhanced performance, reduced weight and lower consumption
Affalterbach, Germany - February 22, 2012 - The stage is set for the new Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG. The new version of the high-performance Roadster impresses on several counts: systematic lightweight construction, a boost in output and driving dynamics, and 30 percent lower fuel consumption and emissions. Thanks to an all-aluminium bodyshell, similar to that of the SLS AMG super sports car, the vehicle weight has been reduced by 125 kilograms.

2012 Chevrolet Volt Cleared for California's Carpool Lanes
Detroit, USA - February 23, 2012 - A low emission model of the 2012 Chevrolet Volt electric car are on their way to California, where customers will qualify for a $1,500 state rebate and be allowed to drive solo in the state's carpool lanes. Volts with the Low Emissions Package, which is standard for California, began shipping from the General Motors Detroit-Hamtramck plant this week and should begin arriving at the more than 140 participating Chevrolet dealerships in California before the end of the month.

Siemens: Smart solutions for the seniors of today and tomorrow
Munich, Germany - February 23, 2012 - In the SmartSenior research project, in addition to Siemens, there will be a total of 28 partner companies and organizations from research and industry, that will be cooperating under the leadership of Deutsche Telekom Laboratories (T-Labs). In spring 2012 a three-month-long field test will begin. It is to show whether the technology fits together and whether it is accepted by the users: 35 existing apartments in Potsdam, Germany, will be equipped with a fast Internet connection, the Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) Home Gateway as a data hub, and with room sensors.

Siemens strengthens its position in ocean power - Acquisition of Marine Current Turbines
