Volkswagen has created about 100,000 new jobs since 2007, including 30,000 in Germany
Wolfsburg, Germany - December 28, 2012 - Since 2007, the workforce of the Volkswagen Group has grown by about 225,000 employees, representing a rise of 70 percent. This increase includes 100,000 new jobs created throughout the world and 125,000 employees of companies newly integrated into the Group. As of the end of November, the Volkswagen Group employed about 550,000 women and men, including about 16,000 apprentices.

Triple success for Astrium
Kourou, French Guiana - December 19, 2012 - Ariane 5 has been successfully launched from Kourou, French Guiana, for the 53rd time in a row and the seventh time this year, once again confirming the extraordinary reliability of the European launch vehicle under industrial prime contractorship of Astrium, Europe's leading space technology company. Siemens honors 12 inventors who are responsible for 734 individual patents
Munich, Germany - December 14, 2012 - The number of patent applications filed by Siemens continues to rise: in fiscal 2012, the company filed some 4,600 patent applications - seven percent more than a year earlier. Siemens' patent portfolio now comprises 57,300 patents worldwide. The number of invention disclosures submitted also reached a new high of 8,900. Twelve particularly successful researchers and developers whom Siemens honored as Inventors of the Year 2012 in Munich on December 13 played a leading role here. These individuals alone account for 613 invention disclosures and 734 individual patents.

BMW Group appoints new Sales and Marketing executives
Munich, Germany - December 07, 2012 - The BMW Group will appoint new managers to head its Germany and China sales regions early next year. Roland Krüger (47) will head the Germany sales region, effective 1 March 2013, after a transition period in February. Karsten Engel (54), who has been Senior Vice President BMW Group Germany since 2009, will transfer to Beijing in January of next year.
