Tim Lee Named Chairman of GM China. Stefan Jacoby to lead Consolidated International Operations of GM
Detroit, Michigan, USA - August 2, 2013 - General Motors today announced that Tim Lee will become Chairman of GM China with responsibility for 12 joint ventures, two wholly owned foreign enterprises and more than 55,000 employees. Stefan Jacoby, most recently the CEO of Volvo Cars, will become Executive Vice President Consolidated International Operations, leading the company's operations in more than 100 countries and territories in Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East.

GE Completes Acquisition of Avio Aviation Business for US$4.3 Billion
Fairfield, CT, USA - August 01, 2013 - GE announced today that it has completed the acquisition of the aviation business of Avio S.p.A., a leading, Italy-based provider of civil and military aviation components and systems. The purchase price was $4.3 billion U.S. (3.3 billion Euros). GE did not purchase Avio's space unit. Avio's aviation business has been renamed Avio Aero, a GE Aviation business. Avio Aero will retain headquarters in Turin, Italy. The acquisition furthers GE's participation and expertise in the areas of mechanical transmission systems, low-pressure turbines, combustion technology, and automation systems.

Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Mitsubishi Agree to Joint Development of Charging Infrastructure for PHVs, PHEVs and EVs in Japan
Tokyo, Japan - July 29, 2013 - Toyota Motor Corporation, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., Honda Motor Co., Ltd., and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation jointly announced their agreement to work together to promote the installation of chargers for electric-powered vehicles (PHVs, PHEVs, EVs) and build a charging network service that offers more convenience to drivers in Japan. The move is in recognition of the critical need to swiftly develop charging infrastructure facilities to promote the use of electric-powered vehicles. Assisted by subsidies provided by the Japanese government, the four automakers will bear part of the cost to install the charging facilities.

A new CFO will be appointed very shortly. The current CEO Peter Löscher will resign his position at the end of the day today and leave the Managing Board of Siemens AG by mutual consent. GE Aviation and CAIGA Signed Agreement for H80 Family Authorized Service Center in China
Oshkosh, WI, USA - July 30, 2013 - China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co., Ltd. (CAIGA) signed an agreement with GE Aviation to become the first Authorized Service Center for the H80 turboprop engine family in China. NVIDIA Tesla GPU Accelerators Power World's Most Energy Efficient Supercomputer
Santa Clara, CA, USA - NVIDIA announced that NVIDIA Tesla GPU accelerators are powering the world's two most energy efficient supercomputers, based on the latest Green500 list published. The winning system is 'Eurora' at CINECA, Italy's largest supercomputing center, in Casalecchio di Reno. Equipped with NVIDIA Kepler architecture-based GPU accelerators - the highest-performance, most efficient accelerators ever built - Eurora delivers 3,210 MFlops per watt, making it 2.6 times more energy efficient than the best system using Intel CPUs alone.
