Larry Page, CEO, Google: Lenovo to acquire Motorola Mobility for $2.91 billion
Google - January 29, 2014 - We've just signed an agreement to sell Motorola to Lenovo for $2.91 billion. As this is an important move for Android users everywhere, I wanted to explain why in detail. We acquired Motorola in 2012 to help supercharge the Android ecosystem by creating a stronger patent portfolio for Google and great smartphones for users. Over the past 19 months, Dennis Woodside and the Motorola team have done a tremendous job reinventing the company. They've focused on building a smaller number of great (and great value) smartphones that consumers love. Both the Moto G and the Moto X are doing really well, and I'm very excited about the smartphone lineup for 2014. And on the intellectual property side, Motorola's patents have helped create a level playing field, which is good news for all Android's users and partners.

We wrześniu 2013 roku GPW rozpoczęła publikację podstawowego indeksu WIG30, której konsekwencją jest zapowiadane wówczas zwiększenie liczby uczestników także w indeksach średnich i małych spółek.

Dell Names Thomas Sweet Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

New FIA Championship Formula E to build new headquarters at Donington Park in the UK
Leicestershire, the UK - January 23, 2014 - Formula E, the FIA's new global electric racing series, has today announced that its new headquarters and team facilities will be based within the grounds of the Donington Park Racing Circuit in the UK. Formula E is a new FIA Championship using electric single-seater race cars capable of speeds in excess of 225km/h. Beginning this September in Beijing, the series will compete in the heart of 10 of the world's leading cities including London, Miami and Rio de Janeiro. Ten teams, each with two drivers, will go head-to-head to create a unique and exciting racing series designed to appeal to a new generation of motorsport fans whilst accelerating the electric vehicle market and promoting sustainability.

Jim DeLuca to Lead GM Global Manufacturing
Detroit, USA - January 24, 2014 - Jim DeLuca will become Executive Vice President of General Motors Global Manufacturing on February 1, succeeding Tim Lee, who is retiring April 1 after a nearly 45-year career that included key positions in manufacturing, manufacturing engineering and global operations. Thomas Kennedy will succeed William Swanson as the Chief Executive Officer of Raytheon Company
Waltham, Mass., USA - January 15, 2014 - Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) announced today that its Board of Directors has elected Dr. Thomas A. Kennedy, age 58, to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of Raytheon Company, effective March 31, 2014. Dr. Kennedy will succeed William H. Swanson, who has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Raytheon Company since 2003, and who advised the Board of his intention to step down from his position as Chief Executive Officer in March, following his 65th birthday next month. This change in Company leadership was undertaken as part of the Board's orderly leadership transition planning process. After March, Swanson will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors while the Company completes the transition to the new Chief Executive Officer. The Raytheon Board of Directors also elected Dr. Kennedy to serve on the Raytheon Company Board of Directors, effective January 15, 2014.
