Alcatel-Lucent Cloud DVR solution wins TV Connect Industry Award 2014
London, UK - March 20, 2014 - Alcatel-Lucent's Cloud DVR solution has won the coveted TV Connect Industry Award for "Best Cloud or CDN Service Delivery". This recognition comes only a few weeks after Alcatel-Lucent received an Emmy Award for its longstanding commitment to developing network DVR technology. The TV Connect awards are judged by an independent panel of service providers and industry influencers from around the world. The "Best Cloud or CDN Service Delivery" recognizes an operator, CDN, networking provider, ISP, content provider or solution provider, for creating the best, and most reliable CDN or Cloud Delivery Service. Cloud DVR enables content to be stored in the network rather than in the hard drive of a traditional DVR or set-top box.

Oliver Frese: CeBIT's new start a complete success
Hannover, Germany - March 14, 2014 - CeBIT 2014 closed on Friday, March 14, receiving positive reviews from exhibitors, the IT sector and the tradeshow's own organizers. "The revamped CeBIT has proven a complete success. Our sharp focus on business users really hit the mark," said Oliver Frese, the Deutsche Messe Managing Board member in charge of CeBIT, at the closing press conference on Friday. This year's show led to total capital expenditures totaling some EUR 25 billion - an all-time high. As this year's official Partner Country, Great Britain showcased its stunning IT achievements and outstandingly innovative spirit. CeBIT 2014 attracted a total of more than 210,000 visitors. The next CeBIT will be staged from 16 to 20 March 2015.

Keynote trends at CeBIT 2014
Hannover, Germany - March 14, 2014 - This year's CeBIT further sharpened its profile as the world's leading IT event for decision-makers. The keynote themes season were Datability and Security. "Big data" was a common thread running through CeBIT 2014. Over 500 businesses used the leading global IT tradeshow to profile their new security solutions, more than ever before. Exhibitors included a host of leading names such as ESET, Kaspersky Lab, Secusmart and Trend Micro. In Public Sector Parc, CeBIT featured a wide range of current and future IT solutions for the government sector, at the federal, state and municipal levels. Trade visitors mainly interested in hardware also got their money's worth. Samsung's new top-of-the-line smartphone Galaxy S5 celebrated its German market launch at CeBIT, and the new business tablets from Samsung, HUAWEI and Nokia also attracted ample attention in the halls. The security specialist secunet featured its new, high-security SINA tablet, based on the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 model. One of the most fascinating attractions at any CeBIT consists of getting a glimpse behind the scenes of universities and research institutions, and this year was no exception.

British Prime Minister David Cameron: CeBIT is a huge pleasure
Hannover, Germany - March 14, 2014 - "CeBIT is a huge pleasure", said British Prime Minister David Cameron on Sunday at CeBIT opening ceremony with German chancellor Angela Merkel. The British Ambassador from Berlin, Simon McDonald, added on the final day of the event, "and a huge success from the British standpoint!" British exhibitors focused on the topics Big Data, Security and e-Health. A major audience attraction was RoboThespian, the multi-lingual robot; during his opening tour with Angela Merkel, David Cameron praised him for his performance at the CeBIT opening ceremony. Visitors in Hall 9 experienced a 3D hologram displaying impressive 3D content. The company Touch Bionics also attracted a good deal of attention with its modern prosthetics technology for people with missing or limited-use limbs.

Prof. Marek Wierzbowski: Francuzi doceniają lokalną kontrolę nad giełdą
Warszawa - 13 marca 2014 - Giełda nowojorska NYSE Euronext, która zarządza poprzez Euronext czterema giełdami europejskimi - Amsterdamem, Paryżem, Brukselą i Lizboną - sama została przejęta jesienią 2013 roku przez IntercontinentalExchange Group (ICE). W ten sposób ICE stała się największą grupą giełdową świata, zarządzającą 16 giełdami i pięcioma izbami rozliczeniowymi. Przejęciu przez ICE Giełdy Nowojorskiej NYSE Euronext towarzyszyło zobowiązanie do wycofania się z kontroli nad Euronextem, czyli czterema giełdami europejskimi. Planowana transakcja oznaczać będzie powrót zarządzania czterema giełdami europejskimi do Europy, co spotkało się z bardzo pozytywnymi komentarzami, szczególnie we Francji. Prezydent RP Bronisław Komorowski: Zadaniem dla gospodarki jest wysoki wzrost PKB i eksportu
Warszawa - 10 marca 2014 - Dziś kluczowym zadaniem rozwoju Polski jest osiągnięcie wysokiego wzrostu PKB i zwiększenie zdolności eksportowych - podkreślił Bronisław Komorowski, Prezydent Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej, otwierając konferencję "Gospodarka konkurencyjnej Polski: rekomendacje reform". Prezydent podkreślał, że w ciągu ostatnich 25 lat Polska wyrosła na jednego z liderów wzrostu w Europie oraz uniknęła głębokich skutków kryzysu gospodarczego, typowego dla całej UE i zachowała wzrost gospodarczy w czasie, kiedy inne kraje przeżywały recesję i zapaść. Małe i średnie firmy są siłą naszej gospodarki i dzięki rozwojowi tego sektora możemy zmniejszać bezrobocie. Bronisław Komorowski przypomniał, że w mikro, małych i średnich przedsiębiorstwach pracuje prawie 12 mln osób. Jest zdania, że ograniczenie szarej strefy i wzrost zatrudnienia będą możliwe poprzez dostosowanie prawa pracy do działalności typowej dla małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw.
Według prezydenta rekomendacje OECD dla Polski są dobrym drogowskazem działań dla władzy ustawodawczej i wykonawczej. Przekonywał, że trzeba tworzyć firmom w Polsce warunki do rozwoju, ale także tworzyć dobry klimat dla przedsiębiorczości i zdolności do konkurowania.

2014 Geneva Motor Show: Maserati Alfieri concept
Geneva, Switzerland - March 07, 2014 - The Alfieri was one of the concept car surprises at the 2014 Geneva motor show. Named after Alfieri Maserati, the engineer brother who founded the Trident marque in 1914, this centenary concept explores Maserati's design heritage and previews the Italian brand's future design language. Based on a shortened GranTurismo MC Stradale chassis and sourcing power from the GranTurismo's 460hp V8 engine, the Alfieri is a drivable concept, hinting at the production feasibility. Influenced by Maserati's racing pedigree and historic GT cars, the design team took inspiration from the A6GCS Berlinetta designed by Pininfarina in the 50s, says Maserati design director Marco Tencone.

2014 Geneva Motor Show: Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4
Geneva, Switzerland - March 07, 2014 - The Lamborghini Gallardo has soldiered valiantly for the last several years of its decade-long run, with special edition upon special edition making the very most out of its now aged platform. But the Gallardo's time has come. A new Lamborghini has arrived. The Huracán, which was revealed in full today at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Underpinning the car is a heavily revised version of the Gallardo's platform. Called a hybrid chassis, the platform of the Huracán is the first in the Volkswagen Group to blend both carbon fiber and aluminum. This same platform will be shared with the next-generation Audi R8. Huracán offers three core modes for its driving dynamics system: Strada, Sport, and Corsa. Lamborghini will build the Huracán on a brand-new line at its Sant'Agata Bolognese plant, with the first cars reaching customers in the spring of 2014.

2014 Geneva Motor Show: Volkswagen T-ROC concept
Geneva, Switzerland - March 07, 2014 - The T-ROC concept is Volkswagen dipping it's toe in the water to gauge public reaction to a Golf-sized SUV. Following on CrossBlue, CrossBlue Coupé and Taigun concept cars, the T-ROC concept is a preview for a compact six-passenger SUV model. Based on Volkswagen's adaptable MQB platform - which also underpins the seventh generation Golf as well as the new Audi TT - the two-door targa-topped concept is well proportioned, with minimal overhangs, a relatively long wheelbase (2595mm) and compact overall length (4179mm). Thanks to the platform lightweight qualities, the concept weighs in at just 1420kg (3131 lbs.).

Warszawa - 8 marca 2014 - "Agresja Rosji na Ukrainę pokazała dobitnie, że rola państwa w Polsce powinna ulec zmianie. Fujitsu Develops First-of-Its-Kind Assessment Tool that Visualizes a Community's Characteristics
Kawasaki and Tokyo, Japan - February 28, 2014 - Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. and Fujitsu Research Institute have today announced development of the first assessment tool from an ICT company that visualizes a community's characteristics from multiple perspectives, including the environment and economy. Utilizing more than 1,200 categories of public data from government statistics and other sources, this project selected 50 items for evaluation related to the regional revitalization needed to create sustainable societies. Comprehensive assessment of attributes conducted for local government in mountain region, contributing to sustainability. Details of this technology are to be announced by Fujitsu Laboratories at the 9th Meeting of the Institute of Life Cycle Assessment, Japan, running March 4 - 6 at the Toyosu Campus of the Shibaura Institute of Technology.

GSMA Mobile World Congress 2014 Shatters Previous Records

GSMA Announces Winners of the 2014 Global Mobile Awards
