CRM Magazine Names Interactive Intelligence a 2014 Service Leader Winner

Formula E heralds a 'new era' of racing in Punta del Este, Uruguay
Uruguay - May 01, 2014 - Jorge Tomassi, the President of the Automobile Club of Uruguay (A.C.U), believes Formula E will create a 'new era' of motorsport in the country. Speaking at the official welcoming of the FIA Formula E Championship to Punta del Este, Tomassi together with the CEO of Formula E Alejandro Agag, greeted 280 guests ahead of the city's first electric race on December 13, 2014. Having started talks to bring Formula E to Uruguay more than a year ago, Mayor Laventure said the city has been working hard to see a race around the 'Monte-Carlo of South America'. Punta del Este joins a list of nine other cities to be announced for the inaugural season and one of two races taking place in South America.

Ford Announces Alan Mulally Retiring on July 1, and Mark Fields Named Company President and CEO
Dearborn, Mich., USA - May 1, 2014 - Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) announced today that Alan Mulally has decided to retire from the company July 1, and Mark Fields will be named Ford president and chief executive officer and elected as a member of the company's board of directors. Mulally, 68, is retiring after nearly eight years leading Ford and capping a remarkable 45-year career. Mulally has led Ford's transformation and strengthened its position as one of the world's leading global automakers. Fields, 53, was named Ford's chief operating officer in December 2012. He has been leading all of Ford's global business operations and most skill teams, including product development, manufacturing, purchasing, and marketing, sales and service.

GE offers $16.9 Billion to acquire Alstom Thermal, Renewables, and Grid businesses
Paris, France - April 30, 2014 - GE (NYSE: GE) and Alstom announced here today that GE has submitted a binding offer to acquire the Thermal, Renewables and Grid businesses of Alstom consisting of USD 13.5 billion (EUR 9.9 billion) enterprise value and USD 3.4 billion (EUR 2.5 billion) of net cash, totaling USD 16.9 billion (EUR 12.35 billion). The Alstom board of directors has positively received GE's offer and has appointed a committee of independent directors led by Jean-Martin Folz to review the transaction by June 2. Bouygues S.A., a 29% non-controlling shareholder of Alstom, supports the transaction. The deal is expected to close in 2015.

While the Porsche Panamera S E-hybrid is already in the showrooms in China, the Group will be launching two further innovative plug-in hybrid vehicles there next year with the Audi A3 e-tron and the Golf GTE. Starting in 2016, this will be followed by two models developed specially for the Chinese market: These are the Audi A6 and a new mid-size limousine from the Volkswagen brand, both plug-in hybrids which are being developed together with the joint venture partners FAW Volkswagen and Shanghai Volkswagen and will be produced locally. Rolls-Royce awarded $100 million contract to service US Navy T-45 trainer aircraft engine
London, England - April 9, 2014 - Rolls-Royce has been awarded a Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) contract valued at over USD 100 million by the US Department of Defense to provide continued support for the F405 (Adour) engines that power the US Navy's T-45 training aircraft. The follow-on, one-year contract will continue the successful support which has provided the US Navy's training fleet with guaranteed availability over the past ten years. In addition to powering the T-45 Goshawk and other military aircraft, the Adour engine will also power the Hawk AJTS aircraft, which is a contender for the US Air Force T-X trainer program.

Vodafone acquires 100% of Vodafone India for GBP 1.0 billion
Newbury, Berkshire, England - April 11, 2014 - Vodafone announces that it now owns 100% of its Indian subsidiary, Vodafone India Limited (VIL). In March 2014, Vodafone completed the acquisition of indirect equity interests in VIL held by Analjit Singh and Neelu Analjit Singh, taking its stake to 89.03% of VIL. Today Vodafone acquired the remaining 10.97% of VIL from Piramal Enterprises Limited. The combined cash consideration for both transactions was INR 101.418 billion (GBP 1.0 billion).

Nowy klimat w europejskiej debacie o energetyce
Warszawa - 12 kwietnia 2014 - Z danych Eurostatu za rok 2012 wynika, że kraje UE (z jedynym wyjątkiem Danii) są uzależnione od importu surowców energetycznych i energii aż w 53,3 proc. Polska, z poziomem 30,7 proc. zależności energetycznej, jest wśród państw najmniej zależnych. Mniejszy stopień zależności mają tylko Czechy (25,2 proc.), Estonia (17,2 proc.), Rumunia (22,7 proc.) i Szwecja (28,7 proc.). Największe unijne gospodarki są znacznie bardziej uzależnione od importu surowców energetycznych: Niemcy (61,1 proc.), Francja (48,1 proc.) i Wielka Brytania (42,2 proc.). Są także kraje niemal całkowicie uzależnione energetycznie, jak Włochy (80,8 proc.), Belgia (74 proc.) i Hiszpania (73,3 proc.). Kraje o stosunkowo niskim poziomie energetycznego uzależnienia od importu bazują na swoich naturalnych paliwach kopalnych (Czechy, Estonia, Rumunia). Szwedzkim naturalnym zasobem są elektrownie wodne. Dania korzysta z własnych zasobów ropy naftowej i gazu ziemnego. Jeśli chcemy ograniczyć import gazu i ropy, a jednocześnie nie możemy oprzeć energetyki na OZE i energetyce jądrowej, to naturalnym rozwiązaniem jest sięgnięcie po własne zasoby paliw kopalnych. Państwa UE posiadają ich całkiem sporo.
