Raytheon welcomes new CEO Thomas A. Kennedy and discuss his vision for Raytheon and industry
Waltham, Mass., USA - Thomas A. Kennedy begins work as Raytheon's chief executive officer, taking the helm of the aerospace and defense company as it pioneers new technologies and broadens its worldwide presence. The 30-year Raytheon veteran credits the Waltham, Mass.-based firm's culture of opportunity and advancement for his progression through the company, including his new role as CEO. Report: IBM Named #1 Preferred Provider of IaaS Cloud by Enterprises
Armonk, N.Y., USA - May 09, 2014 - IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced businesses across the US have ranked IBM the #1 cloud computing provider, according to an IDC survey of US market preferences for infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS). Enterprises ranked Amazon 7th, behind Google (5th) and Microsoft (6th). The rankings are based on responses from more than 400 US-based companies with more than 1,000 employees. Cloud providers were also rated on their quality of service for availability, speed of provisioning, simplicity and overall cost. IBM's IaaS platforms include SoftLayer, an IBM Company, acquired in July 2013 and IBM Cloud Managed Services. In addition to overall top ranking, IBM was also rated the leader in six of eight major industries covered in the study including Financial Services, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Professional Services, Wholesale and Retail and Public Sector (government).

AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Award 2014: Volkswagen recognised again as most innovative automotive company
Wolfsburg, Germany - May 09, 2014 - Technical innovations by Volkswagen not only impress award committees and automotive journalists on a regular basis; they also impress the Center of Automotive Management (CAM). In its latest independent analysis, it rated the Wolfsburg-based company a winner in no less than four categories. The main award of the 2014 AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Awards, which is the award in the category of "Most innovative automotive company", went to Volkswagen for the fourth consecutive time. The company was also named the world's best manufacturer in the "Conventional drives", "Alternative drives" and "Networked vehicle" categories. The award, which has become a mainstay in the industry, was presented to Dirk Isgen, Head of Development Concepts, today in Frankfurt. This year's analysis covered 18 global automotive companies and a total of 53 brands.

Formula E heralds a 'new era' of racing in Punta del Este, Uruguay
Uruguay - May 01, 2014 - Jorge Tomassi, the President of the Automobile Club of Uruguay (A.C.U), believes Formula E will create a 'new era' of motorsport in the country. Speaking at the official welcoming of the FIA Formula E Championship to Punta del Este, Tomassi together with the CEO of Formula E Alejandro Agag, greeted 280 guests ahead of the city's first electric race on December 13, 2014. Having started talks to bring Formula E to Uruguay more than a year ago, Mayor Laventure said the city has been working hard to see a race around the 'Monte-Carlo of South America'. Punta del Este joins a list of nine other cities to be announced for the inaugural season and one of two races taking place in South America.

Ford Announces Alan Mulally Retiring on July 1, and Mark Fields Named Company President and CEO
Dearborn, Mich., USA - May 1, 2014 - Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) announced today that Alan Mulally has decided to retire from the company July 1, and Mark Fields will be named Ford president and chief executive officer and elected as a member of the company's board of directors. Mulally, 68, is retiring after nearly eight years leading Ford and capping a remarkable 45-year career. Mulally has led Ford's transformation and strengthened its position as one of the world's leading global automakers. Fields, 53, was named Ford's chief operating officer in December 2012. He has been leading all of Ford's global business operations and most skill teams, including product development, manufacturing, purchasing, and marketing, sales and service.

GE offers $16.9 Billion to acquire Alstom Thermal, Renewables, and Grid businesses
Paris, France - April 30, 2014 - GE (NYSE: GE) and Alstom announced here today that GE has submitted a binding offer to acquire the Thermal, Renewables and Grid businesses of Alstom consisting of USD 13.5 billion (EUR 9.9 billion) enterprise value and USD 3.4 billion (EUR 2.5 billion) of net cash, totaling USD 16.9 billion (EUR 12.35 billion). The Alstom board of directors has positively received GE's offer and has appointed a committee of independent directors led by Jean-Martin Folz to review the transaction by June 2. Bouygues S.A., a 29% non-controlling shareholder of Alstom, supports the transaction. The deal is expected to close in 2015.

I to jest różnica między krajem rozsądnie podchodzącym do swej energetyki a krajem kierującym się względami politycznymi." - stwierdził jednoznacznie prof. dr inż. Wolfsburg, Germany / Beijing, China - April 19, 2014 - The initiative gets underway with the launch this year of the Volkswagen brand's electric up! and e-Golf models. While the Porsche Panamera S E-hybrid is already in the showrooms in China, the Group will be launching two further innovative plug-in hybrid vehicles there next year with the Audi A3 e-tron and the Golf GTE. Starting in 2016, this will be followed by two models developed specially for the Chinese market: These are the Audi A6 and a new mid-size limousine from the Volkswagen brand, both plug-in hybrids which are being developed together with the joint venture partners FAW Volkswagen and Shanghai Volkswagen and will be produced locally. Furthermore, the Bentley Hybrid Concept opens a window on the broad-ranging potential of hybrid technology.
