Michael J. Coyle, executive vice president and president of Medtronic's Cardiac and Vascular Group, will make a presentation about Medtronic on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, beginning at 11:20 a.m. EST (10:20 a.m. CST). Medtronic plc announced that it has acquired Advanced Uro-Solutions, a privately-held developer of neurostimulation products for the treatment of bladder control issues based in Elizabethton, Tennessee, USA. Advanced Uro-Solutions develops and manufactures the NURO(TM) percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation system, which consists of a small external stimulator and a single, reusable lead to provide temporary stimulation to the tibial nerve. This therapy is 510(k) cleared by the FDA to treat patients with overactive bladder (OAB) and associated symptoms of urinary urgency, urinary frequency and urge incontinence. Medtronic is preparing to launch the NURO system in the U.S. within the next 12 months.

Medtronic Acquires Advanced Uro-Solutions
NURO Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation System to Enhance Neuromodulation Product Offerings for Treatment of Bladder Control Issues
Dublin, Ireland - February 23, 2015 - Medtronic plc (NYSE: MDT) today announced that it has acquired Advanced Uro-Solutions, a privately-held developer of neurostimulation products for the treatment of bladder control issues based in Elizabethton, Tennessee, USA.
Terms of the acquisition agreement, which closed in December 2014, were not disclosed.

Advanced Uro-Solutions develops and manufactures the NURO(TM) percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation system, which consists of a small external stimulator and a single, reusable lead to provide temporary stimulation to the tibial nerve.
This therapy is 510(k) cleared by the FDA to treat patients with overactive bladder (OAB) and associated symptoms of urinary urgency, urinary frequency and urge incontinence.
Medtronic is preparing to launch the NURO system in the U.S. within the next 12 months.
More than 37 million adults in the United States - one in six - suffer from OAB.1,2 By 2018, it is estimated that 546 million people worldwide will be affected by OAB.3

Michael J. Coyle was named Executive Vice President and Group President for the Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm Heart Failure (CRHF), Coronary and Structural Heart (CSH), and Aortic and Peripheral Vascular (APV) business units in December 2009.
In this role, Mike oversees three Medtronic businesses, providing strategic direction, and ensuring cross-functional synergies including integrated growth plans and alignment.
Prior to joining Medtronic, Mike most recently provided leadership consulting services to private equity, venture capital and medical device technology firms.
From 2001 to 2007, he served as President of the CRM division at St. Jude Medical where he led the company’s global pacemaker, implantable cardioverter defibrillator, and cardiac resynchronization businesses.
He also served St. Jude as President of the company’s Daig Catheter division.
In addition, Mike has held numerous leadership positions at Eli Lilly & Company.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from Case Western Reserve University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
