Warsaw, Poland - December 01, 2014 - The Grand Final of the second edition of international team programming contest Marathon24 was held on Saturday and Sunday, November 29 and 30, 2014 in Pomeranian Science and Technology Park Gdynia. Poles turned out to be the best. The Grand Final lasted continuously for 24 hours and was won by the team "SajchoModzajtoSajgon". The second place was taken also by Poles - team "Last Minute" and in the team from Czech Republic was in the third place. Edition 2014 attracted more than 1600 coders representing 49 countries from 5 continents.

Last weekend, November 29 and 30, 2014, the second edition of the biggest international team programming contest organised in Poland – „Asseco Programming Marathon24 Gdynia 2014. Powered by CodiLime” was held.

Edition 2014 attracted more than 1600 coders representing 49 countries from five continents.

During the Grand Final, members of the winning team: Marek Cygan, Przemysław Dębiak and Mateusz Żotkiewicz had to beat 29 other teams from eight countries in three extremely challenging tasks.

The competition was very fierce but in the end “SajchoModzajtoSajgon” managed to reach the highest place on podium and win the main prize.

An open formula of the contest allows all the programmers to join and compete against one another regardless of their age, educational background or professional experience.

The competition consists of two stages.
In the online qualifying round all registered teams of three compete to find themselves among 30 who will get invited to the second stage.
The Grand Final lasts continuously for 24 hours and is held in the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia, Poland (Editions 2013 and 2014).

Marathon24 is an annual contest organized jointly by CodiLime, Asseco Poland and the city of Gdynia, and is also supported by prestigious companies and institutions such as PKO Bank Polski (the largest bank in Central Europe), Bank Zachodni WBK, Polish Ministry of Economy, Polish Ministry of Administration and Digitization, University of Warsaw and Polish Academy of Science.
