Erlangen, Germany - October 17, 2011 - Siemens is putting the solar farm Les Mées on line. Siemens has installed 112,000 solar modules on an approximately 70-hectare site on the La Colle des Mées plateau in the vicinity of the French Alps. Siemens Energy is EPC contractor for the six photovoltaic (PV) power plants with a combined peak output of 31 megawatts (MWp) and will in the future perform maintenance work on the solar power plants. Approximately 12,000 French households in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence in the south of France will be supplied with ecofriendly power.

Erlangen, Germany - October 17, 2011
In mid-October,
Siemens Energy put the
Les Mées solar farm in the department of Alpes-de- Haute-Provence in the south of France on line.
For this project Siemens installed a total of six turnkey photovoltaic (PV) power plants.
Customer is the project developer Eco Delta Développement (EDD), whose subsidiary Delta Solar developed the photovoltaic (PV) farm in the district of Les Mées.

The solar power plants, for which
Siemens will also handle maintenance, will generate a combined peak output of
31 megawatts (MWp).
Approximately 12,000 French households can thus be supplied with clean electricity.
The Les Mées solar farm, which is located at an
elevation of 800 meters above sea level on the La Colle des Mées plateau, comprises a total of
112,000 solar modules covering an area of 70 hectares.

Under the terms of turnkey installation of the
six photovoltaic power plants Siemens was not only responsible for grid connection and the control systems but also for
supply and installation of the inverters, low- and medium-voltage components, and transformers.
Furthermore,
Siemens was also responsible for the civil works and substructure, and will also perform maintenance on the
solar power plants.

Everything from a single source.
As EPC contractor, Siemens is responsible for all of the civil works and the plants' substructure, for supply and installation of the inverters, low- and medium-voltage components and transformers, and for grid connection of the plants and for the control systems. Furthermore, Siemens will in the future also perform maintenance work of the solar power plants.

"The Les Mées project demonstrates that we're the right partner for successful, on-schedule implementation of complete photovoltaic plants," said
Martin Schulz, Vice President of the Photovoltaics Business Unit of the Siemens Solar & Hydro Division.
Siemens erected the six PV plants in Les Mées in only ten months.
Components and solutions for photovoltaic power plants are part of Siemens' Environmental Portfolio.
