Dell streak tablet entices people to watch, surf, connect, listen, and play on 5” of power and portability

Today,
Dell released plans for
Streak, a 5-inch Android™-based Tablet designed to provide people the best “
on-the-go” entertainment, social connection, and navigation experience.
Early this June the
Dell Streak will be available across the
UK at O2 stores, O2.co.uk, The Carphone Warehouse, and later in the month at Dell.co.uk.
Pricing and data plans for the UK will be announced by O2 ahead of availability.
Later this summer,
Dell plans to make
Streak available in the
U.S.

Ron Garriques serves as president, Communication Solutions, for Dell.
In this role, he focuses on bringing to market connected computing products and services through new channels of distribution, including telecommunications, cable, satellite and others.
Previously at Dell, he served as president, Consumer, where he was responsible for the Dell portfolio of consumer products, including desktops, laptops, software and peripherals, as well as product design and sales.
Prior to joining Dell, Ron served in various leadership roles at Motorola. He was most recently responsible for the Mobile Devices division.
He also was senior vice president and general manager of the Europe, Middle East and Africa region for Personal Communications Services (PCS) division where he drove sales, customer satisfaction and market share improvements.
He also served as senior vice president and general manager of worldwide product line management for PCS.
He also held management positions at AT&T Network Systems, Lucent Technologies and Philips Consumer Communications.
Ron earned a master's degree in business administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Boston University and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.

Michael Dell, born in February 1965, is the chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer of Dell, the company he founded in 1984 with $1,000 and an unprecedented idea - to build relationships directly with customers.
In 1992, Michael became the youngest CEO ever to earn a ranking on the Fortune 500.
Michael is the author of “Direct From Dell: Strategies That Revolutionized an Industry”, his story of the rise of the company and the strategies he has refined that apply to all businesses.
In 1998, Michael formed MSD Capital, and in 1999, he and his wife formed the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation to manage the investments and philanthropic efforts, respectively, of the Dell family.
Michael serves on the Foundation Board of the World Economic Forum, the executive committee of the International Business Council and is a member of the U.S. Business Council.
Michael also serves on the Technology CEO Council and the governing board of the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, India.
