Alcatel-Lucent received first-place awards in the Network Infrastructure - In-Building/Local Area Network Solution category; and Network Infrastructure - Wide Area Network category.
In addition,
ng Connect, spearheaded by
Alcatel-Lucent, received a
first-place award in the Enterprise & Vertical Market Solution – Mobile Marketing or Advertising category.
Winning entries are:
LTE Small Cells In-Building Solution (Network Infrastructure – In Building/Local Network Solutions)
The world’s first LTE Pico Cell in-building solution will enable service providers to deliver higher indoor capacity and a range of wireless applications that ensure a consistent,
high quality mobile data experience.

As a member of the
Alcatel-Lucent Small Cells family, The LTE Pico moves the base station closer to the mobile device, promoting faster, more reliable data connectivity. Additionally, it reduces strain on the macro-cellular network by offloading data traffic, providing a more efficient, cost-effective option for wireless network growth.

7750 SR Mobile Packet Core Gateways (Network Infrastructure - Wide Area Network)
 |
|
Target markets for the Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR-based mobile gateways are:
1. 3GPP 3G/2G operators who are expanding or renewing their networks (UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ and GRPS/EDGE). In this scenario, the 7750 SR is initially deployed as a next-generation GGSN platform, capable of smoothly evolved to provide EPC gateway (SGW and PGW) functionality.
2. Mobile operators who are considering evolving to LTE. In this scenario, 7750 SR becomes the foundation of the new LTE packet core data plane overlay, and 7750 SR equipped with MG-ISM are deployed as dedicated Evolved Packet Core user plane elements - Serving Gateways and PDN Gateways.
Both of these scenarios share the vision - delivered as the progression of the initial deployment - of deploying the 7750 SR the universal mobile gateway platform, which will provide SGW, PGW and GGSN functionality on common industry-leading data plane platform.

The ng Connect Program, spearheaded by
Alcatel-Lucent, received a
first-place award for
the LTE-enabled HumanKiosk™.
ng Connect Program members MediaTile, a leading provider of cellular provisioned digital signage, and
Alcatel-Lucent collaborated to create an innovative interactive digital signage prototype called the
LTE-enabled HumanKiosk.

The kiosk can run digital promotions and includes video technology that can only operate over a high-bandwidth wireless
IP connection enabled by LTE.
A live in-store
LTE video session allows consumers to ask immediate questions that can be answered by an off-site expert.
