Siemens to sell hearing aid business to EQT and Struengmann family for EUR2.15 Billion
Berlin, Germany - November 06, 2014 - Siemens is selling Siemens Audiology Solutions to the investment company EQT and Germany's Struengmann family of entrepreneurs as co-investor for EUR2.15 billion plus an earn-out component. Due to the very attractive offer made by the two investors, Siemens has decided not to further pursue preparations for the public listing it announced in May. Siemens reinvests EUR200 million in preferred equity. Transaction closing expected in first quarter of calendar 2015. EQT is a growth-oriented investment company managing around EUR22 billion in assets and with proven expertise in the healthcare and medical engineering sector. EQT is also the owner of LBX, one of the largest pharmacy chains in China's growth market. Germany's Struengmann family of entrepreneurs is also known for its focus on long-term growth. In 1986, the family founded Hexal, which has since become Germany's leading provider of generic drugs.

U.S. Navy and Lockheed Martin Deliver Third MUOS Secure Communications Satellite for Mobile Warfighters
Sunnyvale, Calif., USA - November 06, 2014 - The U.S. Navy and Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] have delivered the third Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) spacecraft to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, where it will be prepared for a January 2015 liftoff aboard a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket. MUOS operates like a smart phone cell tower in the sky, vastly improving current secure mobile satellite communications for warfighters on the move. MUOS-3's safe transport to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station began from Lockheed Martin's Sunnyvale, California, facility to nearby Moffett Federal Airfield. There, the 60th Air Mobility Wing of Travis Air Force Base loaded the satellite aboard a C-5 aircraft for final shipment on November 5.

Ford Announces Senior Leadership Team Changes
Dearborn, Mich., USA - November 07, 2014 - Ford Motor Company today is announcing a series of changes in its senior leadership team as it continues to deliver the company's One Ford plan for profitable growth. Jim Farley is appointed executive vice president and president of Europe, Middle East and Africa. Chilean Entrepreneurs Aiming to Improve Science Education Win Top Prize at Intel Global Challenge

Raytheon acquires special operations and cybersecurity firm Blackbird Technologies for USD 420 million
Dulles, Va., USA - November 05, 2014 - Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) today announced that it has acquired Blackbird Technologies, a leading provider of persistent surveillance, secure tactical communications and cybersecurity solutions to the Intelligence Community (IC) and special operations market. The purchase price is approximately USD 420 million, subject to post-closing adjustments. The transaction will not materially impact Raytheon sales or earnings per share for the fourth quarter of 2014. Located in Herndon, Virginia, Blackbird will become part of Raytheon Company's Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) business. With this transaction, Raytheon becomes one of the top industry partners to SOCOM.

Korzyści z UE to na pewno przewidywalne prawo, porządek, otwarte rynki, zaufanie inwestorów, wzrost prestiżu Polski. Ale nie powinniśmy przeceniać pieniędzy z Brukseli. Nie gonimy już od pięciu lat najbogatszych krajów Zachodu. W tym czasie polskie PKB na osobę wzrosło o 4,2 proc., a na przykład w Niemczech o 8 procent. Korea rozwija się dwa razy szybciej. Co więcej, w ostatnich pięciu latach stanęliśmy. Musimy się wspólnie zastanowić, co z tym zrobić. Bo dotychczasowy wzrost opierał się na prostych rezerwach - taniej sile roboczej, imporcie know-how, kapitału, odrabianiu konsumpcyjnych zaległości. To się właśnie kończy. Wydaje mi się, że rząd ma w swoim otoczeniu dużo doradców powiązanych z zagranicznym kapitałem. Dlatego nasze propozycje pozostają na papierze" - stwierdził Ryszard Florek, prezes firmy FAKRO.

Solar-powered beer: Heineken unveils UK's largest green brewery
North Yorkshire, UK - October 22, 2014 - Recently, Heineken has taken its sustainability strategy to the next level by becoming the first major brewer in the UK to implement a large-scale solar panel installation on the roof of one of its flagship production sites in North Yorkshire. GLOBALFOUNDRIES to Acquire IBM's Microelectronics Business
Armonk, N.Y., and Santa Clara, Calif., USA - October 20, 2014 - IBM (NYSE: IBM) and GLOBALFOUNDRIES today announced that they have signed a Definitive Agreement under which GLOBALFOUNDRIES plans to acquire IBM's global commercial semiconductor technology business, including intellectual property, world-class technologists and technologies related to IBM Microelectronics, subject to completion of applicable regulatory reviews. GLOBALFOUNDRIES will also become IBM's exclusive server processor semiconductor technology provider for 22 nanometer (nm), 14nm and 10nm semiconductors for the next 10 years. The Agreement, once closed, enables IBM to further focus on fundamental semiconductor research and the development of future cloud, mobile, big data analytics, and secure transaction-optimized systems. IBM continues its previously announced $3 billion investment over five years for semiconductor technology research to lead in the next generation of computing. GLOBALFOUNDRIES will have primary access to the research that results from this investment through joint collaboration at the Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE), SUNY Polytechnic Institute, in Albany, N.Y.
