AUDI AG, BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ericsson, Huawei, Intel, Nokia and Qualcomm form global cross-industry 5G Automotive Association
Munich, Germany - September 27, 2016 - Today AUDI AG, BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ericsson, Huawei, Intel, Nokia and Qualcomm Incorporated, announce the formation of the "5G Automotive Association". The association will develop, test and promote communications solutions, support standardization and accelerate commercial availability and global market penetration. The goal is to address society's connected mobility and road safety needs with applications such as connected automated driving, ubiquitous access to services and integration into smart cities and intelligent transportation. With next generation 5G mobile networks and continued strong LTE evolution, which includes Cellular Vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) communication, the focus of information and communication technologies (ICT) shifts towards the Internet of Things and the digitalization of industries. The association is open to further partners.

Snap, Inc. Introduces Spectacles, Sunglasses That Record and Upload Video Memories to SnapChat
LinkedIn - September 25, 2016 - There are two big news coming out of Snapchat this morning. The first one is that the company behind Snapchat is changing its name from Snapchat Inc. to just Snap Inc. The reason behind this is that when the company was launched, Snapchat was its only product but now that they are branching out it makes sense to change the name to something else. Speaking of branching out, Snap Inc. announced its second product today, and that's Spectacles. Spectacles are a pair of sunglasses that have a built-in video camera in them with a 115 degree view. There is also an LED indicator that informs others you are recording. They record 10 second videos, which are then sent over to your smartphone over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, and saved in the Snapchat app.

IAA HANNOVER 2016: Tytuł "Bus of the Year 2017" dla polskiego autobusu Solaris Urbino 12 electric
Hannover, Niemcy - 22 września 2016 - Solaris Bus & Coach z podpoznańskiego Bolechowa odebrał w środę w Hanowerze nagrodę za najlepszy autobus miejski roku 2017. Solaris Urbino 12 electric zdobył tytuł "Bus of the Year 2017" jako pierwszy w historii pojazd bateryjny. Wielkopolska spółka jest pierwszym polskim producentem, który zdobył to wyróżnienie. Wręczenie statuetki dla najlepszego autobusu odbyło się w trakcie odbywających się w Niemczech targów pojazdów użytkowych IAA. Nowy Solaris Urbino 12 electric został wyposażony w baterie o pojemności 240 kWh. W autobusie zamontowano dwa systemy ładowania: z wykorzystaniem pantografu, np. w trakcie postoju na przystankach, lub poprzez złącze typu plug-in z ładowarki znajdującej się na terenie zajezdni autobusowej. Solaris produkuje autobusy bateryjne od 2011 roku. Do tej pory dostarczył ich już blisko 80 do polskich i zagranicznych odbiorców.

IBM and Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ to Use Blockchain For Contract Management between the Two Companies
SINGAPORE - September 16, 2016 - IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced it has signed a contract with the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU) to examine the design, management and execution of contracts among business partners using blockchain technologies. The two companies will begin by piloting blockchain to automate business transactions between the two companies. This is one of the first projects built on the Hyperledger Project fabric, an open-source blockchain platform, to use blockchain for real-life contract management on the IBM Cloud. IBM and BTMU have built a prototype of smart contracts on a blockchain to improve the efficiency and accountability of service level agreements in multi-party business interactions. The bank plans to begin using it to manage contracts within their business in fiscal year 2017.
