Deutsche Telekom at CeBIT 2017: Narrowband radio combats bee mortality
Hannover, Germany - March 21, 2017 - Timotheus Höttges, Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Telekom, is today presenting to Chancellor Angela Merkel, as part of her traditional CeBIT tour, a technology that can help beekeepers protect their bees. The narrowband wireless technology NB-IoT (Narrowband Internet of Things) transmits the data collected by intelligent sensors, straight from the beehive to the beekeeper. This data includes temperature, air humidity, air pressure, beehive weight and activity of the bees. The beekeeper simply needs to look at their smartphone or tablet app to find out whether their bees are healthy. A beehive is the world's smallest industrial plant with 40,000 workers on half a square meter. As with Industry 4.0, sensors and Narrowband-IoT continually monitor and provide timely assistance before a bee colony is damaged. NB-IoT already offers a wide range of possibilities and the technology is being further developed rapidly.

William D. Cohan: It's time we stop hating Wall Street and start appreciating what it does for the U.S. economy
LinkedIn - March 11, 2017 - The conversation we've been having about Wall Street in this country for the past decade has become so utterly hyperbolic and polemic that if you're like most people, amid all the outrage you've totally lost the thread of the discussion. Maybe you think the whole system is rotten to the core. Maybe you think, sure, there's greed, excess, and bad behavior on Wall Street, with nary a consequence for those responsible, but is the right answer to these problems to break up the big banks? Maybe that's about when you just checked out.

Toyota i-TRIL concept at Geneva International Motor Show 2017
Geneva, Switzerland - March 11, 2017 - Designed at the Japanese automaker's ED2 advanced design outpost in southern France, the brief was to create a three-person vehicle that could be seen as a viable alternative to conventional A and B segment city cars, small hatchbacks and motorcycles. While it looks to fill the brief, the one-plus-two seat design is perhaps a little too 'forward looking' for a suburban housewife to identify with, but it would be suitable for people who still want to have fun when driving, even at slower speeds.
