Airbus: First high power all-electric satellite, EUTELSAT 172B, launched by Ariane 5
Kourou, French Guiana - June 2, 2017 - EUTELSAT 172B, the first high power all-electric telecommunications satellite worldwide built by Airbus for Eutelsat, one of the world's leading satellite operators, has been successfully launched from Kourou, French Guiana by Ariane 5. The satellite will provide enhanced telecommunications, in-flight broadband and broadcast services for the Asia-Pacific region.

Boeing Satellite for ViaSat to Significantly Enhance Satellite Broadband Communications
El Segundo, Calif., USA - June 2, 2017 - Leveraging the recently launched Boeing (NYSE: BA) 702 high-power satellite, ViaSat's second-generation satellite, ViaSat-2, will realize a seven-fold increase in broadband internet service coverage from its previous generation satellite and offer twice as much capacity on orbit. Boeing is on contract to build two more satellites, under the ViaSat-3 program, both based on the 702 design and integrated with ViaSat payload technology.

Orbital ATK Awarded USD90 Million Contract From Northrop Grumman for B-2 Composite Structures
Dulles, Virginia, USA - May 30, 2017 - Orbital ATK (NYSE: OA), a global leader in aerospace and defense technologies, announced today that it has received an initial USD90 million contract from Northrop Grumman to produce composite components for the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber with an option for follow-on orders. Under the terms of the 5-year contract, Orbital ATK will perform Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) and produce 17 Hot Trailing Edge (HTE) composite parts. Production will take place at Orbital ATK's Aerospace Structures Division facility in Dayton, Ohio, later this year.

Orbital ATK OBV Rocket and ICBM Target Successfully Complete Missile Defense Interceptor Test
Dulles, Virginia, USA - May 30, 2017 - Orbital ATK (NYSE: OA), a global leader in aerospace and defense technologies, successfully launched and tested its Orbital Boost Vehicle (OBV) rocket for the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) as part of the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) FTG-15 Flight Test. Orbital ATK provides the OBV to MDA as part of an industry team led by The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA).

Polacy zdobyli w USA złoty medal Akademickich Mistrzostw Świata w Programowaniu Zespołowym
Rapid City, Południowa Dakota, USA - 25 maja 2017 - Akademickie Mistrzostwa Świata w Programowaniu Zespołowym (ACM ICPC) to najbardziej prestiżowe zawody programistyczne dla studentów. Prof. Andrzej Udalski z nagrodą Dan David Prize
Tel Awiw, Izrael - 23 maja 2017 - Prof. dr hab. Andrzej Udalski z Obserwatorium Astronomicznego UW został laureatem nagrody Dan David Prize. To międzynarodowe wyróżnienie przyznawane przez Uniwersytet w Tel Awiwie i Fundację Dan David za osiągnięcia mające przełomowe znaczenie naukowe, technologiczne, kulturalne i społeczne dla współczesnego świata. Prof. Udalski został wyróżniony za wkład w rozwój nowej dziedziny badań astronomicznych - wielkoskalowych przeglądów nieba prowadzonych w szerokim zakresie skal czasowych. Naukowiec z Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego otrzymał nagrodę w kategorii Przyszłość (Future) - astronomia. Uroczystość wręczenia nagród Dan David Prize odbyła się 21 maja 2017 na Uniwersytecie w Tel Awiwie.

Polska grupa WIELTON przejmuje niemiecką grupę Langendorf
Warszawa - 24 maja 2017 - W dniu dzisiejszym odbyła się w Warszawie konferencja prasowa Grupy Wielton. Jej tematem było podpisanie umowy dotyczącej przejęcia 80 proc. udziałów Grupy Langendorf, niemieckiego producenta naczep, w tym m.in. specjalistycznych pojazdów do przewozu szkła i prefabrykatów. Wartość transakcji wyniosła 5,3 mln EUR. W następstwie transakcji Grupa Wielton ma zwiększyć swoje przychody o 200 mln PLN w skali roku.
