There are actually two recessions. The first is the cyclical one, the one that inevitably comes and then inevitably goes. There's plenty of evidence that intervention can shorten it, and also indications that overdoing a response to it is a waste or even harmful. The other recession, though, the one with the loss of "good factory jobs" and systemic unemployment - I fear that this recession is here forever.

Dlaczego obawiamy się robotów podobnych do człowieka?
Wygląd i zachowanie robota są bardzo istotne dla dalszego kierunku rozwoju robotów humanoidalnych. Ostatnie badania wykazały, że jeśli robot wygląda jak robot i zachowuje się jak robot, akceptujemy to, ponieważ nasz mózg nie ma problemu z przetwarzaniem informacji. Jeśli roboty wyglądają na bardziej ludzkie, tym samym wydają się bardziej przyjazne, ale tylko do punktu, w którym ich delikatne niedoskonałości zaczynają wywoływać w ludziach uczucie obcości lub grozy.

Chevrolet Identifies 16 Carbon-Reduction Projects
Detroit, USA - October 7, 2011 - Chevrolet is helping support 16 projects across America - from biomass to wind turbines - as part of its commitment to spend up to $40 million on carbon reduction. The agreements account for half of Chevrolet's goal of preventing up to 8 million metric tons of carbon dioxide from entering the air during the next five years. OPERA experiment reports anomaly in flight time of neutrinos from CERN to Gran Sasso
