Daimler Invests more than EUR 1.5 Billion at its Main Mercedes-Benz Powertrain Plant in Germany
Stuttgart, Germany - November 25, 2011 - In view of numerous production start-ups for new vehicles and a positive demand picture, Daimler is investing several hundred million euros in 2011 and 2012 respectively in its main Mercedes-Benz powertrain plant in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim. In all, more than 1.5 billion euros are to be invested in the extension and conversion of various parts of the plant and in the launch of new products and production technologies.

Siemens honors twelve inventors - R&D investments to increase by EUR500 million
Munich, Germany - November 23, 2011 - In fiscal 2011, Siemens generated 8,600 inventions, nearly 40 per working day - a ten percent increase year-over-year. The number of invention reports per Siemens R&D employee (current R&D workforce: 27,800) has doubled in the last ten years. Initial patent applications filed by the company rose to 4,300, nearly 20 per working day - a 15 percent increase over the previous year. In Europe, Siemens was Number 1 in patent applications for the first time.

Siemens: Grand Opening of the Charlotte gas turbine manufacturing facility
Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - November 16, 2011 - Siemens officially inaugurates a new gas turbine factory in Charlotte, NC, today. The company is continuing to expand its worldwide network of gas turbine manufacturing facilities. Siemens has invested more than $350 million in a 42,000 m2 plant in Charlotte, creating 700 new jobs. Charlotte is the only Siemens plant in the world that makes both gas and steam turbines as well as generators. The facility also plays a key role in the important power plant service business.

Apple Names Arthur D. Levinson Chairman of the Board
Cupertino, California, USA - November 15, 2011 - Apple today named Arthur D. Levinson, Ph. D. as the Company's non-executive Chairman of the Board. Levinson has been a co-lead director of Apple's board since 2005, has served on all three board committees - audit and finance, nominating and corporate governance, and compensation - and will continue to serve on the audit committee. Qualcomm: First Electric Vehicle Wireless Charging Trial Announced for London

Boeing, Emirates Announce Historic Order for 50 777-300ERs with a value of $18 billion
Dubai, United Arab Emirates - November 13, 2011 - Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Dubai-based Emirates Airline today announced an order for 50 Boeing 777-300ERs (Extended Range) plus options for an additional 20 of the popular twin-aisle commercial jetliner. The order, with a value of $18 billion, makes this the single largest commercial airplane order in Boeing's history by dollar value. It also makes 2011 the best-selling year for the 777 program, surpassing the previous record of 154 orders set in 2005.
