Keynotes from Panasonic, Verizon and Next Generation of Innovators Kick Off 2013 International CES
Las Vegas, NV, USA - January 09, 2013 - Major product launches from more than 3,250 exhibitors and keynotes from the leaders of Panasonic, Verizon and the Next Generation of Innovators panelists kicked off the 2013 International CES on Tuesday. Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CEA, delivered the State of the Consumer Electronics (CE) Industry address Tuesday morning. Shapiro projected that CE industry revenues will reach a record-high $209.6 billion, domestically, up nearly three percent from an estimated $203.9 billion for 2012. He compared the strength of the 2013 CES to the success of the global technology industry which will exceed $1 trillion in 2013.

Consumer Electronics Industry Revenues to Reach Record-High $209 Billion in 2013, According to CEA
Arlington, VA, USA - January 08, 2013 - Revenues for the consumer electronics (CE) industry are projected to grow nearly three percent, reaching a new record-high of $209.6 billion, according to the semi-annual industry forecast released today by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). The forecast also shows 2012 industry revenues reached $204 billion, up five percent from the previous year. CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro announced the forecast in his opening remarks today at the 2013 International CES, the world's largest annual innovation event.

Mamy trochę więcej niż połowę dochodu na jednego mieszkańca Niemiec i chyba nas to nie zadowala. Powinniśmy nadrabiać historyczne opóźnienie, zacofanie gospodarcze wobec Zachodu, które narastało przez ostatnie 300 lat. Pozostało nam trochę mniej niż 50 proc. do zrobienia. I uważam, że to jest prawdziwy cel narodowy - stwierdził były Wicepremier i Minister Finansów prof. dr hab. Leszek Balcerowicz.

Volkswagen has created about 100,000 new jobs since 2007, including 30,000 in Germany
Wolfsburg, Germany - December 28, 2012 - Since 2007, the workforce of the Volkswagen Group has grown by about 225,000 employees, representing a rise of 70 percent. This increase includes 100,000 new jobs created throughout the world and 125,000 employees of companies newly integrated into the Group. Siemens honors 12 inventors who are responsible for 734 individual patents
Munich, Germany - December 14, 2012 - The number of patent applications filed by Siemens continues to rise: in fiscal 2012, the company filed some 4,600 patent applications - seven percent more than a year earlier. Siemens' patent portfolio now comprises 57,300 patents worldwide. The number of invention disclosures submitted also reached a new high of 8,900. Twelve particularly successful researchers and developers whom Siemens honored as Inventors of the Year 2012 in Munich on December 13 played a leading role here. These individuals alone account for 613 invention disclosures and 734 individual patents.
