Mobile World Congress 2014: GSMA and Facebook Announce Joint Initiative to Connect the Unconnected
Barcelona, Spain - February 25, 2014 - The GSMA and Facebook, through its Internet.org partnership, today announced a joint initiative designed to connect the billions of men and women globally that currently have no access to Internet-based communications services. The joint initiative will focus on reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO) of mobile, given that mobile will be the enabling technology for the vast majority of people in developing markets. Wiele rynków poza Europą oferuje stabilność. W Azji Południowo-Wschodniej atrakcyjne dla inwestorów są szybko rozwijające się gospodarki. 5th Boeing GPS IIF Spacecraft Sends Initial Signals from Space
El Segundo, Calif., USA - February 21, 2014 - A Boeing (NYSE: BA) Global Positioning System (GPS) IIF satellite has sent initial signals from space after its launch Feb. 20, joining four other advanced versions of the spacecraft that are improving position, navigation and timing information for millions of civilian and military users around the world. The GPS IIFs are providing greater navigational accuracy through improvements in atomic clock technology, a more resilient signal for commercial aviation and safety-of-life applications, and a longer design life of 12 years. This was the first GPS IIF satellite launch of 2014. The sixth GPS IIF is at the Florida launch site undergoing preparations for a second quarter launch. The remaining six are at the Boeing Satellite Development Center in El Segundo, Calif., USA.

Verizon Wireless deploys Alcatel-Lucent's small cells to help boost 4G LTE coverage in dense high-traffic environments
Paris, France - February 20, 2014 - Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced the deployment of its small cell solutions in the Verizon Wireless network. The Alcatel-Lucent small cells are being deployed in indoor and outdoor locations to help ensure subscribers have the LTE coverage and capacity they demand at popular outdoor venues and in dense metropolitan areas. Facebook to Acquire WhatsApp for $19 Billion
Menlo Park, Calif., USA - February 19, 2014 - Facebook today announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire WhatsApp, a rapidly growing cross-platform mobile messaging company, for a total of approximately USD16 billion, including USD4 billion in cash and approximately USD12 billion worth of Facebook shares. The agreement also provides for an additional USD3 billion in restricted stock units to be granted to WhatsApp's founders and employees that will vest over four years subsequent to closing.

Peter Löscher, former CEO of Siemens, will new CEO of Renova Management AG in Zurich, Switzerland
Moscow, Russia and Zurich, Switzerland - February 18, 2014 - Viktor Vekselberg, the founder of Renova Group and Chairman of its Board of Directors will become Chairman of a newly formed Board of Renova Management AG (RMAG) in Zurich, Switzerland. Mr. Vekselberg will be joined on the new Board of RMAG by Peter Loescher, a member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank; Josef Ackermann, a member of the Board of Royal Dutch Shell; Orit Gadiesh, Chairman of Bain & Company, and Vladimir Kuznetsov, Chief Strategy Officer of Renova Group. Peter Loescher will take up the role of Chief Executive Officer of RMAG as a Board delegate, beginning March 2014. Bartosz Marczuk: Program Polski Razem to realizacja postulatów liberałów o wolnych ludziach i ograniczonym rządzie
Warszawa - 17 lutego 2014 - Polska Razem zaprezentowała w niedzielę program gospodarczy. Nie jest to opasłe tomiszcze - liczy 11 stron, zawiera się w 10 punktach. Biorąc jednak pod uwagę zawartość merytoryczną i filozofię myślenia o państwie - dokument to niemal traktat o wolności i pochwała zaufania do ludzi, podmiotowości narodu, a nie państwa. Partia Gowina chce skromnej polityki fiskalnej. Postuluje wpisanie do konstytucji limitu wydatków publicznych na poziomie 35 proc. PKB (obecnie przez państwo "przepływa" 44 proc.) oraz budżetu bez deficytów. Oprócz kwestii czysto finansowej postulaty te niosą ze sobą aksjologiczne przeświadczenie o wyższości wydatków dokonywanych przez obywateli, a nie urzędników. Gowin domaga się też zdecydowanego obniżenia narzutów na pracę. Zamiast składek do ZUS i PIT na poziomie 40 proc. obowiązywałby jeden, 20-proc. podatek od funduszu płac. Ma to być recepta na bezrobocie.

Microsoft Board Names Satya Nadella as CEO
Redmond, Wash., USA - February 4, 2014 - Microsoft Corp. today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Satya Nadella as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors effective immediately. Nadella previously held the position of Executive Vice President of Microsoft's Cloud and Enterprise group. Since joining the company in 1992, Nadella has spearheaded major strategy and technical shifts across the company's portfolio of products and services, most notably the company's move to the cloud and the development of one of the largest cloud infrastructures in the world supporting Bing, Xbox, Office and other services. Warszawa - 4 lutego 2014 - Już po raz trzeci Związek Przedsiębiorców i Pracodawców opublikował "Raport dotyczący warunków prowadzenia firm w Polsce". Pomimo relatywnie dobrej sytuacji makroekonomicznej, nadal trwa impas inwestycyjny. Przedsiębiorcy z niepokojem patrzą w przyszłość i wszelkie działania inwestycyjne podejmują z wielką ostrożnością. Dokonane przez rząd reformy, choć istotne i plasujące Polskę nieco wyżej w światowych rankingach, nadal pozostają niewystarczające. Brak jest pozytywnych zmian w kluczowych obszarach dotyczących warunków prowadzenia firm w Polsce. To co dotyczy wszystkich, a więc wrogi, nieprzejrzysty system podatkowy czy nadmiar biurokracji, nie zmienia się. Mimo, że to nic nie kosztuje. Są to działania bezinwestycyjne. Wystarczy wola polityczna, której nie ma. Jeśli chcemy gonić zachodnią Europę poziomem życia, to powinniśmy aspirować do stworzenia warunków prawno-instytucjonalnych dla firm na poziomie Szwajcarii. Polska potrzebuje nowego systemu podatkowego, ograniczenia biurokracji i przywrócenia wolności gospodarczej.

Renault and Nissan launch projects to accelerate Alliance synergies
