5th Offshore Engineering Summit in Shanghai, China, 18-19 September 2014
Shanghai, China - June 16, 2014 - The year 2013-2014 will see a new round of historical highs for global offshore engineering market. China's three major oil companies are continuously investing in exploration and development of equipment: CNOOC will continue to invest 120 billion yuan in purchasing oil equipment for offshore oil & gas exploration and development in the future 5-10 years; CNPC will plan on investing 60 billion yuan to build 57 large offshore oil equipment before 2020; and SINOPEC is also actively preparing for the Offshore oil equipment arrangement. Merisis Consulting and SSNAOE Ocean Engineering Academic Committee will co-host the "5th Offshore Engineering Summit 2014, namely SSNAOE Ocean Engineering Academic Committee Annual Conference" in Shanghai, 18-19 Sep, 2014. Poland's CodiLime selected for maintenance contract with NTT i3 Palo Alto data center in California
Palo Alto, California, USA and Warsaw, Poland - June 13, 2014 - CodiLime, a Poland-based software engineering services company, to work with Silicon Valley-based NTT i3 to support its research and software development initiatives. CodiLime, a Warsaw-based software engineering services organization, has been selected by NTT i3, the applied Research and Development arm of the NTT Group in Palo Alto, California, to support its data center operations in San Jose and Palo Alto. CodiLime personnel will work with NTT i3 innovators to implement data security and deployment standards set by NTT Group. Poland's Bumar Elektronika and Raytheon Partner to Develop New Patriot IFF Antenna

Warszawa - 14 czerwca 2014 - Za 30 lat ropa, gaz i węgiel, to, co dziś stanowi 95 proc. zasobów energetycznych świata, skurczy się do 15 proc., a 85 proc. będzie zmagazynowanych w uranie. Paliw kopalnych jest coraz mniej, a ropa, węgiel albo gaz są jednocześnie surowcami dla przemysłu chemicznego. Natomiast z uranu i deuteru nie da się zrobić niczego innego, tylko energię. Logiczne jest więc, żeby węglowodory wykorzystywać jako surowiec dla przemysłu chemicznego, a prąd wytwarzać z tego, co się nadaje tylko do jego produkcji. Mamy otwarte okno oraz gotową strukturę i możemy z nią wejść w technologię, która za 30 lat będzie kontrolowała 85 proc. wytwarzanej na świecie energii. I moglibyśmy to robić za pieniądze europejskie. Nie chodzi mi o to, żeby zamykać kopalnie. Wydobywajmy węgiel, dopóki jest. Ale uczmy się, jak żyć w epoce, kiedy węgiel będzie surowcem, a nie tylko paliwem.

Tesla Motors Inc CEO Elon Musk says he's making the firm's patents public in bid to grow electric car market
Palo Alto, CA, USA - June 12, 2014 - At Tesla we felt compelled to create patents out of concern that the big car companies would copy our technology and then use their massive manufacturing, sales and marketing power to overwhelm Tesla. Given that annual new vehicle production is approaching 100 million per year and the global fleet is approximately 2 billion cars, it is impossible for Tesla to build electric cars fast enough to address the carbon crisis. We believe that Tesla, other companies making electric cars, and the world would all benefit from a common, rapidly-evolving technology platform. Technology leadership is not defined by patents, which history has repeatedly shown to be small protection indeed against a determined competitor, but rather by the ability of a company to attract and motivate the world's most talented engineers. We believe that applying the open source philosophy to our patents will strengthen rather than diminish Tesla's position in this regard.

Damon Wilson: Powstaje globalny sojusz gospodarczo-polityczny USA i Europy
Wrocław Global Forum 2014 - 13 czerwca 2014 - Waszyngton i Bruksela zainicjowały prace na rzecz utworzenia najpotężniejszego w historii sojuszu gospodarczo-politycznego. Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems to build a 427 MW gas turbine at Toyama Shinko Thermal Power Station
Yokohama, Japan - June 10, 2014 - The consortium comprised of Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Ltd. (MHPS) and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has received an order to build a 427 megawatt (MW) natural gas-fired, gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power generation plant from Hokuriku Electric Power Company at the utility's Toyama Shinko Thermal Power Station. The high-efficiency GTCC power plant on order will incorporate an M501GAC gas turbine at its heart, and is slated to go on stream in the fiscal year 2018, the year ending March 31, 2019. The M501GAC gas turbine is one of the most efficient, large-capacity gas turbines in the world.

Polish Company ORLEN acquires Birchill Exploration, new production assets in Canada, doubling its oil and gas reserves
Calgary, Alberta, Canada and Warsaw, Poland - June 06, 2014 - Operating through its subsidiary TriOil Resources Ltd., PKN ORLEN has completed its acquisition of Canadian-based oil and gas producer, Birchill Exploration LP at total price of CAD 255.6 million, which is around PLN 707.5 million. Thanks to this acquisition ORLEN Group will increase its 2P reserves to 48 million boe. The transaction is a major step towards further growth of PKN ORLEN's business - the new additions to the Company's portfolio of producing assets will increase its inventory of drilling locations, ultimately leading to higher production and larger reserve base.

Allianz and Deutsche Telekom enter into a digital alliance for retail and corporate customers
Bonn/Munich, Germany - June 06, 2014 - Allianz and Deutsche Telekom are joining forces to launch digital services for retail and corporate customers. For "connected life" services, the partners will combine the latest information, communications and sensor technology with insurance and service offerings for retail customers. Szczyt G7: bezpieczeństwo energetyczne geopolitycznym priorytetem najwyższej wagi
Bruksela, Belgia - 05 czerwca 2014 - "Uzgodniliśmy, że bezpieczeństwo energetyczne jest kwestią geopolityczną najwyższej wagi" - powiedział po szczycie G7 szef KE Jose Barroso. Prezydent USA Barack Obama zapowiedział, że G7 pomoże Ukrainie i państwom Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej wzmocnić to bezpieczeństwo. Jose Barroso i przewodniczący Rady Europejskiej Herman Van Rompuy zapewniali na konferencji prasowej po spotkaniu G7 w Brukseli, że bezpieczeństwo energetyczne jest kluczowym priorytetem, podobnie jak walka ze zmianami klimatu. Jak podkreślił Barroso, G7 poparło kluczowe inicjatywy UE w zakresie bezpieczeństwa energetycznego. Atos to acquire Bull to create a European global leader in Cloud, Cybersecurity, and Big Data
Paris, France - May 26, 2014 - Atos, an international information technology services company, and Bull, the trusted partner for enterprise data, together announced today the intended public offer in cash by Atos for all the issued and outstanding shares in the capital of Bull. On Sunday May 25th, 2014, the Board of Directors of Bull has expressed its full and unanimous support for the transaction and has appointed pursuant to the AMF regulation an independent expert to provide a fairness opinion on the terms of the offer. The Board of Directors of Atos held on Friday May 23rd, 2014 also expressed its full and unanimous support for the transaction. Crescendo Industries and Pothar Investments, representing in aggregate Bull largest shareholder with 24.2% share capital have both committed to tender their shares to the Atos bid.
