Today Verizon joins the Common Ground Alliance (CGA) to highlight 811 Day, which is August 11 (8/11).

This year marks the 5th anniversary of 811 - the free, nationwide call-before-you-dig number - established by the Federal Communications Commission to provide an easy and free method for protecting underground utility lines.

A recent report released by the CGA has determined an underground utility line is damaged during digging projects every three minutes nationwide.
