Opel/Vauxhall CEO and General Motors Europe President, Karl-Friedrich Stracke, today announced another change to the Adam Opel AG Management Board.

The Opel Supervisory Board appointed Dr. Thomas Sedran (47) to lead the newly created Management Board position of Operations, Business Development and Corporate Strategies, effective April 1.

He is also named Opel/Vauxhall Vice President for that function.

To date, Sedran has been co-leading the European automotive practice at the global business-consulting firm AlixPartners, working from its office in Munich, Germany.

In this position, he has worked closely with Opel/Vauxhall since 2009.

At Opel/Vauxhall, Sedran will be responsible for developing and implementing business strategies for long-term profitable growth in Europe and beyond.

Thomas Sedran has spent most of his career as a consultant at companies including Roland Berger and AlixPartners.

As a consultant, he has been an automotive expert for almost 20 years.

He has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hohenheim, Germany and a Ph.D. from the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Germany.
