BlackRock, Inc. (NYSE:BLK) today announced that
Terrence (“Terry”) Keeley has joined the Company as a Managing Director and Head of its Official Institutions Group.

In this newly created position,
Mr. Keeley will be responsible for overseeing the development of the relationships and the services BlackRock provides to official institutions around the world – a client base today comprising central banks, sovereign wealth funds and supra-nationals that have entrusted BlackRock with approximately
$235 billion in total assets under management.

Mr. Keeley will also play a role in supporting the design and execution of the BlackRock Investment Institute.

Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr. Keeley was the founder and Senior Managing Principal of Sovereign Trends, LLC, a New York based advisory firm.
From May 1988 until July 2010, he worked for
UBS’ investment banking and asset management subsidiaries in a variety of managerial posts, operating out of
London, New York and
Chicago.
From 1994 until 2010,
Mr. Keeley was a Senior Managing Director at UBS with relationship oversight responsibilities for central bank and sovereign clients globally.

The teams he managed were responsible for all asset management assignments, transactions, credit exposures, debt underwritings, and restructurings with governmental agencies globally. In addition, he was the senior calling officer at a large number of multilateral organizations, ministries of finance, central banks and sovereign wealth funds.
Prior to his private sector career,
Mr. Keeley worked for Congressman David Stockman, and for
President Ronald Reagan's Council of Economic Advisors, where he wrote speeches for the
Chairman, Dr. Murray Weidenbaum.
He has
published widely on a number of
macroeconomic and investment topics in the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Foreign Affairs and Bloomberg / Businessweek.
As an adjunct to his work at
Sovereign Trends, Terry has been a lecturer at the University of Notre Dame in business and ethics, and a Bloomberg TV Contributing Editor.
