HCL will use Bluemix, IBM's Cloud platform to build applications and solutions in the areas of Unified Service Management and Internet of Things (IoT). The Unified Service Management offering will help clients manage the most demanding and complex service delivery environments. The IoT solutions will enable clients to collect and exchange data from a network of physical objects embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and connectivity. HCL will also use IBM Cloud's Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), SoftLayer, to offer cloud-based solutions to its clients. HCL will be able to leverage the full-range of SoftLayer infrastructure services, including bare metal servers, virtual servers, storage, security services and networking in addressing the needs of their clients.

IBM has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire The Weather Company’s B2B, mobile and cloud-based web properties, including WSI, weather.com, Weather Underground and The Weather Company brand.
The planned acquisition would bring together IBM’s powerful cognitive and analytics platform and The Weather Company’s dynamic cloud data platform, which powers the fourth most-used mobile app daily in the United States and handles 26 billion inquiries to its cloud-based services each day.

Leveraging the HCL MyCloud and DryICE automation and orchestration platforms, HCL plans to offer highly scalable cloud environments, including IaaS solutions in dedicated, as well as shared models, for enterprise customers.
