Three gold medals with mentions, eight gold medals and five special awards were granted to Polish scientists during the 28th INPEX, the Invention & New Product Exposition, in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States on June 19-21.

INPEX, the Invention & New Product Exposition, is America's largest invention trade show.

INPEX provides a forum for inventors to exhibit their inventions and attempt to make contacts with companies interested in licensing, marketing or manufacturing new products.

This year scientists from 24 countries presented 550 inventions including 13 Polish.

Gold medals with mentions were granted in following categories: medicine, education, security - with the latter one honouring the Warsaw Stock Exchange for the technology of producing paper for passports.
The technology also received a special prize: „INNOVATOR CUP INPEX 2013”.

Gold medal with the mention for education went to the Warsaw University of Technology for thermal analysis programme for composite materials “TERMET CAE”.

The third medal in the category of medicine went to dentist doctor Jacek Nocon, a Pole working in Germany for material imitating a bone which may be used as dentistry implant.

Other gold medal winners were POLTEGOR-INSTYTUT open pit mine institute, Road and Bridge Research Institute, Warsaw and Poznan Universities of Technology, VOICE LAB Ltd., Polish Academy of Sciences' Experimental and Clinical Medicine, "BioEnergia” Malopolska Renewable energy sources centre.

Polskie wynalazki nagrodzone podczas największych Targów Wynalazków i Nowych Produktów w USA

Trzy medale złote z wyróżnieniem, osiem medali złotych i pięć nagród specjalnych otrzymali polscy naukowcy podczas 28. Międzynarodowych Targów Wynalazków i Nowych Produktów INPEX w USA.

INPEX, największe Targi Wynalazków i Nowych Produktów w USA odbyły się w dniach 19-21 czerwca 2013, w David L. Lawrence Convention Center w Pittsburghu w Pensylwanii już po raz 28.

W tym roku złote medale z wyróżnieniem trafiły do Polski w kategoriach:
• bezpieczeństwo,
• edukacja,
• medycyna.

W kategorii „bezpieczeństwo” złoty medal z wyróżnieniem otrzymała Polska Wytwórnia Papierów Wartościowych za technologię produkcji papieru do paszportów.

W kategorii „edukacja” złoty medal z wyróżnieniem trafił do Politechniki Warszawskiej za program do analiz termalnych wspomagających projektowanie materiałów kompozytowych o zwiększonym przewodnictwie cieplnym – „TERMET CAE”.

Złoty medal z wyróżnieniem w kategorii „medycyna” otrzymał pracujący w Niemczech stomatolog dr Jacek Nocon.
Doceniono jego materiał będący substytutem kości, który można wykorzystywać jako implant dentystyczny, ale też w ortopedii czy chirurgii urazowej.
