Boeing joined the U.S. Air Force at Joint Base Lewis-McChord to help dedicate a C-17 Globemaster III airlifter to the members of the U.S. armed forces who have received the Congressional Medal of Honor.

The C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program (GISP) provides support services such as forecasting, purchasing and material management for the C-17 and all C-17-unique support.
This Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) program, which started in 1998 with 42 aircraft, now covers 246 worldwide.

It provides lower costs through economies of scale from supporting the entire global fleet.
The latest contract covers fiscal years 2013 through 2017.
Under a PBL arrangement, a customer receives an agreed-to level of system readiness, as opposed to a traditional contract for specific spare parts and support services.

Boeing, US Air National Guard Welcome C-17s to Stewart ANG Base.
Boeing joined the U.S. Air National Guard at Stewart Air National Guard Base (ANGB) on Aug. 6, 2011 to commemorate the base's transition to the Boeing C-17 Globemaster III airlifter.
The ceremony, shown in this photo, was attended by more than 1,000 guardsmen assigned to the 105th Airlift Wing, as well as elected officials and dignitaries.
Speakers at the event included Gen. Verle Johnston Jr., commander of the 105th Airlift Wing; Gen. Duncan McNabb, commander, United States Transportation Command; Lt. Gen. Harry Wyatt III, director, Air National Guard; Maj. Gen. Patrick Murphy, adjutant general of New York; Elizabeth Glazer, deputy secretary for public safety for New York; and Bob Ciesla, Boeing C-17 program manager.
