A record 3 million gallium-arsenide solar cells delivered to more than 225 spacecraft.
At Boeing Spectrolab, we’re proud of this important milestone and all it demonstrates about our continued passion for innovation, quality and unmatched production capability.
It’s also a measure of the confidence customers place in our advanced

He also has served as deputy program director for the Boeing Wideband Global SATCOM Block II program and held management and engineering roles on key Boeing satellite product lines.

David Lillington, Spectrolab president, holds a semiconductor wafer made by his company.
A single one of the 50 terrestrial solar cells to be cut from this many-layered wafer will yield 15 watts of electricity in a concentrator solar system, converting 35 percent of the light spectrum.
By comparison, a standard five-inch-square (13-centimeter-square) silicon cell yields 2.5 watts with around 15 percent efficiency.

Dawson
replaces Dave Lillington, who is retiring after more than 28 years with Boeing and Spectrolab.
His appointment is effective immediately.

Robotic welding will soon free her to do other work in the factory.

The wafers - which will be cut into smaller photovoltaic cells – were imprinted with a fine grid composed of silver alloyed with other precious metals.

Spectrolab's CPV cells can be found on every continent of the world, and in nearly every CPV system currently in operation worldwide.
