“Adding our five decades of nuclear energy experience with Fluor's engineering and construction leadership will enable us to provide a complete solution and a competitive bid to PGE,” said Danny Roderick, senior vice president of new plant projects for GEH.
“We are very excited about the prospect of collaborating with Fluor on the Poland new-build opportunity and potentially on additional programs in the future.”

Today, nuclear energy supplies 16% of the world's electricity, avoiding the emission of about 2.5 billion tons of carbon dioxide every year that would otherwise be generated by fossil fuel solutions, such as supercritical pulverized coal.
GE Hitachi has provided advanced and sophisticated technology for nuclear energy for over five decades. Three main product lines support this capability: advanced reactor technologies, nuclear services, and nuclear fuel cycle.

Fluor has decades of experience in coordinating large engineering and construction projects around the world

Fluor has been in Poland since 1995 with nearly 300 engineering and technical professionals.

Next-Generation BWR Development
The Next-generation Light Water Reactor Development project is underway as a national initiative bringing together government, electric power utilities, manufacturers, and others to work on a replacement light water reactor for which construction demand is anticipated to start around 2030.
This METI project is a cooperative venture with the Institute of Applied Energy as the lead agency.
The project will establish an optimum plant concept combining six key technologies.
